I’m the full time caretaker for my 84 year old mother. She’s been a customer for over 40 plus years and they have scammed her. We had a mouse fall in between the wall of her house and died so she called Terminix to come out and assess everything. I did not know they were coming until after I got home and she had signed a already the contract.
It was for an attic exclusion, they were too spray in the attic and fix any areas in the attic where they might be coming in. My mom is 84 years old and on oxygen 24/7 so wasn’t even able to walk them around. The salesperson and her sat down in the land talked for a few minutes at which time he told her he could take care if everything, showed her a pic on his “Computer” where he got a pic of a mouse popping it’s head out. (Such lies) Mice don’t stick around long enough for anyone to take a photo. But she believed him and thought she might have an infestation and talked in to signing this ridiculous contract and she had to pay a downpayment and then a monthly fee for 3 years. Days went by and they never called to set up a time so I had to reach out to get them to come out a made it the Monday after Thanksgiving because we had family in town for the holidays. Instead they show up the day before Thanksgiving as I was leaving for work so I had to stay home so they could do the work. They werre to spray the attic, caulk around the house and fill any holes with wire that might see. We were to set enough time for them to be there for 3 hours. After 45 minutes they came to the door to say they were done. and that’s when I asked how could that be since they were to fix everything in the attic to which the tech told me there was no way they could do that and that’s when the trouble started. I walked them around and asked if they had done anything in the areas outside and found numerous places they never even looked at. Tech was rude to me at which time I told him I would be calling the corp office. Took me several attempts to get someone to call me back and ended up with someone unfamiliar with our job and was no help. Had to call several more times and then out of the blue 5 separate Terminix trucks showed up with 5-6 different guys who all stood around while the original rude tech simply put a few more traps in the attic and said there were no mice and once again I asked about the repairs to which the tech got angry and told ne he was calling the office. Nothing else was done and the job was still not complete. Called corporate again several times and no one called until about my 7 try. And which point another person called unfamiliar with the situation call and had to go over everything with him again. Said he wanted to come out and look around and would come by after the Christmas Break. Weeks went by and northing so I called corp again asking for someone from CORPORATE to call and no one to this day (February 19 has ever called) The tech that was suppose to come look around finally came out and looked around and made notes and admitted the job was incomplete at which point I told him we were not going to pay anymore for exclusion because they have still not completed the work at which time they made me wake up my elderly mom from a deep sleep to talk to her about it all and she too told them she felt stupid and duped and wanted out of the contract. The salesman said he wanted tocome back later that week to complete everything (4th time) and I refused and told them we were done with Terminix. He set up a call with his boss (GM) who didn’t call for weeks and I explained everything to him. He then tells me he was one of the guys who came out with the 5 trucks/techs who all stood around. I asked him why at that time did he not tell me he was the general manager or to try and work with me at that time because I feel that was conniving and dishonest and he should have let me know because he knew we were unhappy costumers. I explained everything to him AGAIN and told him we were done and that I was not going to allow them to come out yet a 4th time and he ended up hanging up on me. No one from Corporate has EVER called us. Even my mom has tried calling numerous times and not one call back. So we have stopped all payments for any service we have with them and they won’t let her ot of the contract for work they have not done. Now my mom is worried about them trying to ruin her credit so I am trying to figure out what we can do. There’s so much more but too much for me to even write.
