A person from TERMINIX came to do routine pest control. When we pointed out a little pile of dust and asked if this was termites. He said yes and that we would have to tent the unattached garage and house for $5,900. He also up-sold us saying the house had to be tented also. We explained that we had an annual contract for pests and termites. BUT OH NO… these were subterranean termites and our TERMITE coverage did not include them. We had our house tented in 2013 and had an assurance from Terminix that if we has any problem with termites that they would come back and take care of them. In 2016 when that assurance expired we started to pay for the annual termite care. SO FOR SEVEN YEARS WE PAID FOR THAT ADDITIONAL TERMITE PROECTION, being told that if the termites returned they would take care of it. The charge was over $320 a year. SO THAT MEANT WE PAID $2,240 for essentially nothing. It took us calling Terminix many times over the FOUR WEEKS since we noticed droppings, and still no response!!!
Finally in speaking to someone WHO CLAIMED TO THE THE AREA MANAGER,
he erroneously said we had canceled our termite inspection. NOT TRUE. we entered the only other agreement we could which was the annual termite contract.
NO WHERE were we ever told that there are different types of termites and we were only covered for one. OF COURSE THAT WAS NEVER REPRESENTED TO US when we paid for the contract every year.

The area manager TRIED to mislead us by saying that we had canceled the contract in 2016. NO, the warranty had ended (3 years after the tenting) and we purchased the recommended product.

The technician who definitely tried to UP-SELL us, did not even check the detached house.

After this awful experience, we called someone else. He said there are other ways to treat termites with spot treatments, gas and heat. They found that people do not like to LEAVE THEIR HOMES for tenting.

SO, I am cancelling Terminix immediately and hope of get refunds on both of my contracts with them.

I called the executive office and made my complaint. It has been three days with no response.

So, this is going to be posted everywhere and sent to the CEO, and all the board members. This information was listed on the home website. Of course, there is no address and I will keep working on that. In the mean time
This review will be copies and found on facebook, Instagram, Yelp and any other site I find.

If you have been wronged by Terminix or another termite company, you don't have to fight alone.
