I just purchased a home. It’s an old house (built in 1966). It needs work, but so many do. This is my first time buying a house.
We did a final walk through last week. Didn’t see anything.
Came to the house after we got the keys, and what do I see? A trail of fire ants all along the bathroom wall. I contacted Terminex to have them treat the yard and inside the house. Same day they came out. I explained to the technician that I am truly terrified of ants (all kinds). He baited, did the outside of the perimeter of the house.
They seemed to go away, but came back with a vengeance. I have pictures and videos.
He had put a bait trap on the kitchen windowsill. For 5 days, not a single ant in the kitchen, but had migrated into the tub. Thursday April 13th, there were at least 100 of the fire ants swarming the bait trap on the kitchen windowsill. Called them back. Came out again (now 2 days in a row).
Now, my kitchen cabinet, ceiling and walls are infested. My husband had to clean out the cabinet full of spices (at least $200 worth), all sealed properly, bc as I stated, I’m terrified and try my best to keep them away). I call Terminex yet again, spoke with Bill, supervisor and he tells me that I didn’t have to get rid of the spices, I can still use them. I asked him are you kidding? Do you like cooking with bugs??
So now I have to wait until Monday for yet another technician to come back, and mind you, Bill had stated to me that he’s doing me a courtesy bc they can’t keep coming out here, and that the “treatment” needs time to work. Yes I understand that, but I can’t have these fire ants migrating elsewhere in the house. I have pets. I have Guinea pigs, and a dog, plus my sanity.
The technicians are nice enough, but overall, I spent almost $4000.00 between pest control, termite prevention (I don’t have any termites), getting insulation installed, etc).
This is totally DISGUSTING and UNACCEPTABLE

If you have been wronged by Terminix or another termite company, you don't have to fight alone.
